Why Choose a Teardrop or Micro Trailer?
1. Tow with Your Daily Driver Most of our micro lineup weighs under 3,500 lbs, with many models dipping below 2,000 lbs. This means you can tow them with most mid-size SUVs and crossovers, saving you the cost of upgrading to a heavy-duty truck.
2. Fit Where Others Can't At under 20 feet in length, these trailers can fit into the tightest, most secluded campsites in Algonquin or the Bruce Peninsula. Many can even fit inside a standard residential garage, saving you monthly storage fees.
3. The Outdoor Lifestyle Teardrops are designed to keep you outside. With features like Rear Galley Kitchens and Batwing Awnings, your campsite becomes your living room, while the trailer provides a cozy, climate-controlled bedroom at night.
Our Micro-Trailer Lineup
We break our inventory down into three distinct styles:
1. The "Modern Teardrop" (Forest River R-Pod)
The Icon of the Class. The R-Pod is famous for its unique shape and "lowest tow weight in its class".
-
Hood River Edition: Many of our units come with this off-road package, featuring advanced ground clearance and all-terrain tires for rough backroads.
-
Wet Bath: Unlike traditional tiny trailers, most R-Pods (like the RP-171) feature a full interior wet bath (shower/toilet combo).
2. The "Rugged Micro" (Jayco Jay Feather Micro & NoBo)
Built for the Backcountry. If your camping involves dirt roads and Crown Land, these are for you.
-
Jay Feather Micro: Features Azdel composite walls (rot-proof) and the Magnum Truss™ Roof System, making it one of the toughest small trailers on the market.
-
No Boundaries (NoBo): The 10-series models (like the 10.6) act as "mini toy haulers," with a rear ramp door to load a kayak or ATV inside, and a rooftop tent option for extra sleeping space.
3. The "Classic Minimalist" (Viking & Bontrager)
Pure Simplicity. For those who want to upgrade from a tent without the complexity of a large RV.
-
Viking Express: Ultra-lightweight units that are essentially a hard-sided bed on wheels. Simple, affordable, and incredibly easy to tow.
-
Bontrager: Canadian-friendly designs that offer a comfortable sleeping cabin and rear kitchen in a package that weighs as little as 2,300 lbs.
Feature Spotlight: The Outdoor Kitchen
One of the coolest features of the Teardrop class is the Rear Galley or Slide-Out Kitchen. Instead of cooking inside a cramped trailer, you pop the rear hatch or pull out a drawer to reveal:
-
2-Burner Gas Stove: Cook breakfast in the fresh air.
-
12V Cooler/Fridge: Keep your drinks cold without needing ice.
-
Sink & Spray Port: Easy cleanup with hot and cold water.
Financing Your Adventure
Micro trailers are surprisingly affordable, and we offer financing plans to match.
-
Bi-Weekly Payments: Own a brand new Viking or R-Pod for less than the cost of a few nights in a hotel.
-
Trade Up from a Tent: We see many first-time buyers moving out of canvas tents. Our finance team specializes in helping first-time RV owners get approved.
Teardrop FAQs
Q: Can I stand up inside? A: It depends on the model!
-
Yes: In R-Pods, Jay Feather Micros, and NoBo 19-Series, you have full standing headroom (usually 6'6").
-
No: In traditional "tear" styles (like the NoBo 10.6 or smaller Vikings), the interior is primarily for sleeping and sitting, with cooking done outside.
Q: Do they have bathrooms? A: "Micro" trailers (R-Pod, Jay Feather Micro) typically have a Wet Bath (toilet and shower in one waterproof stall). Smaller traditional teardrops usually rely on campground facilities or portable toilets to save weight.
Q: Do I need mirror extensions? A: Often, no! Because teardrops and micro trailers are narrower (usually 7–8 feet wide) than standard trailers, your standard SUV mirrors are often sufficient.
