The Jayco Difference: JRide® Plus
The biggest complaint about Class A motorhomes? "They sway in the wind." Jayco fixed that. Every Jayco Class A comes equipped with the industry-leading JRide® or JRide® Plus handling package.
-
Computer-Balanced Driveshaft: Eliminates highway vibration.
-
Heavy-Duty Front & Rear Stabilizer Bars: Drastically reduces body roll when cornering or being passed by trucks.
-
Sachs Shock Absorbers: Large-diameter shocks that smooth out rough roads.
-
The Result: A Class A that drives like a luxury SUV, not a bus.
Gas vs. Diesel: Which is Right for You?
One of the first decisions you'll make is the engine. Here is the quick breakdown:
Gas Class A (e.g., Jayco Alante, Precept)
-
The Pros: Lower upfront cost, easier maintenance (can be serviced at many Ford truck centers), and excellent for weekend trips and shorter snowbird runs.
-
The Chassis: Typically built on the Ford F53 chassis with the Godzilla V8 engine.
Diesel Pusher (e.g., Jayco Embark)
-
The Pros: Massive torque for towing a vehicle through mountains, air ride suspension for a cloud-like ride, and engines designed to last hundreds of thousands of kilometers.
-
The Ride: Because the engine is in the rear ("Pusher"), the cockpit is whisper-quiet while driving.

Class A FAQs
Q: Do I need a special license to drive a Class A? A: For most Gas Class A motorhomes, a standard Ontario G License is all you need! If you buy a large Diesel Pusher equipped with Air Brakes, you will need a Z Endorsement (Air Brake) on your license. Our team will guide you through exactly what is required for the specific unit you choose.
Q: Can I tow a car behind a Class A? A: Absolutely. Most Gas models are rated to tow 5,000 lbs (perfect for a Jeep Wrangler or Equinox), while Diesel models can often tow 10,000+ lbs. We can install the tow bar and braking systems right here in our shop.
Q: Are they hard to drive? A: They are intimidating at first sight, but surprisingly easy to handle. With side-view cameras, backup cameras, and the high seating position, you have better visibility than in a car. We offer full test drives and orientation to make you comfortable before you leave the lot.
